Rod Stewart, born on 10 January 1945 in London, England, is a British rock and pop singer whose career has spanned more than six decades. He first gained attention performing with bands including The Jeff Beck Group and The Faces before establishing himself as a hugely successful solo artist.
Stewart's distinctive raspy voice and energetic stage presence helped him become one of rock music's most recognisable singers. His early solo successes included Maggie May, You Wear It Well and Sailing, while his work with The Faces produced a number of influential rock recordings.
During the 1970s and 1980s, Stewart successfully moved between rock, pop, soul and adult contemporary music. Further hits included Tonight's the Night, Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?, Baby Jane and Every Beat of My Heart.
He has also enjoyed major success with songs such as Have I Told You Lately, Rhythm of My Heart and All for Love. His versatility has allowed him to appeal to several generations of listeners.
