About The Police:-
The Police were an English rock band formed in London in 1977 by Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland. They became one of the most successful bands of the late 1970s and 1980s, combining rock, reggae, punk and new wave influences.
Their breakthrough came with songs such as Roxanne and Message in a Bottle. Their music was distinctive for Sting's expressive vocals, Summers' guitar work and Copeland's energetic drumming.
The band's international success increased dramatically with the albums Zenyatta Mondatta, Ghost in the Machine and Synchronicity. Major hits included Walking on the Moon, Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Every Breath You Take and King of Pain.
Every Breath You Take became one of the most recognisable songs of the 1980s and remains one of the band's signature recordings.
The Police stopped performing together regularly in the mid-1980s as Sting concentrated on his solo career. They reunited for a hugely successful world tour in 2007 and 2008.
The band's ability to combine different musical influences with concise songwriting helped make them highly distinctive. They have sold millions of records worldwide and received multiple awards.
The Police remain an important part of British rock history, while Sting, Summers and Copeland have each maintained influential careers beyond the group.
